Born in Manhattan and raised in Rye, NY, I started writing professionally at age 16, covering high school sports for Westchester Rockland newspapers; landed my first full-time newspaper job in Stamford, CT as a writer-photographer; wrote numerous true-crime stories for my father's detective magazines; won the prestigious Deadline Award for an investigative series on the fraudulent demise of several trucking companies in the NY metro area; won a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship at Columbia; helped launch the annual review of the highest paid people on Wall Street as Executive Editor of Financial World; consulted on three TV documentaries about the world's first scandal magazine; worked 11 1/2 years as a supervisory analyst for global investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Lehman Brothers; headed the Connecticut Center for Patient Safety for five years; joined the board of The New York Financial Writers Assn. and photographed numerous events; then capitalized on all this background as a Senior Financial Writer-Market Analyst for one of America's oldest independent money management firms.
